Hawaii is often referred to as being a paradise when in actuality it is a photographers paradise. Where else can you find an active volcano, lush rain forests and waterfalls all over the place? Add a snorkeling cruise and a waterfall and dolphin cruise and everyone will be amazed at the variety of photo subjects. And who can go to Hawaii and not attend a luau?

Both sides of the Big Island will be visited and the difference in the two will be as different as night and day. Starting on the east side and staying in Hilo at a hotel with a waterfall right on the property, we will visit quite a few waterfalls as this is the rain forest side of the island.

A visit to the magnificent Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden will show off some of the most beautiful tropical flowers found anywhere. The only problem is a whole workshop could be spent at these gardens and you'd want to even come back for more. We will have plenty of time here to capture its beauty. There's even a nice waterfall on the property.

This is not the only waterfall to be visited on the island. The most famous of the falls, Akaka and Rainbow will be visited as well as close to 40 on a waterfall and dolphin cruise. The spinner dolphins seen will be a very fun and challenging shoot as they jump and flip all around the boat.

Also on the Hilo side we will get up very early one morning for a sunrise at a nice beach. That will be followed by a late afternoon and evening at Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Here, we will venture through lava tubes, peer into the Kilauea Caldera and hopefully see some lava flowing at night from some location.

Also included is a visit to a black sand beach, one of only a few found in the world.

After heading to the western side of the island, the adventure doesn't end. A sunset at an exquisite beach setting will provide the type of sunset images you dream of getting - a nice sky with a palm lined beach in the foreground.

Also on the west side we will take a snorkel cruise where we go into a lagoon filled with small colorful fish. An underwater camera rental is included in the price of the trip.

And who can go to Hawaii without taking part in a luau. Besides the wonderful food, the stage show is one everyone will want to have their camera out for, especially when the fire breather takes the stage.

Everyone can look forward to the challenge of photographing a variety of exotic and beautiful locations as we explore the Big Island along with a visit to the southern point. We will photograph the sun rising and setting, tropical flowers, and learn techniques to bring out different moods of the waves coming up over rocky coastlines.
